Get An Inner Makeover

 


What is it about getting a makeover that makes people feel divine inside?

Some would say that it is the perfect chance to get a new look, go out shopping, spend some time doing what we love to do and treating our Self with a little money spending. Even though, the thought of it does put a smile on my face, I still feel that what we ultimately want are the feelings we get once we do all those things. Speaking for my Self, I know I get the feelings of renewal, a confidence boost and a wonderful sensation that makes me feel that I am worth the moon and more.

The challenge is - How can I achieve those same feelings by using techniques that are easy and simple to do.

And more importantly: How can I make those feelings last?

Here are a few simple techniques you can try at home:

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR SELF?

We hear it time and time again – it all starts from within. Sounds simple enough, so why do we always find the practical side of this theory hard to do? As human beings, we are in constant change. Every minute, we are a new person evolving with our inner world, while our outer world reflects the exact way we feel about life.
It is very common to make the mistake in thinking that the outer world around us is what makes us change. In fact, it is the

 

opposite. If we decide to spend money for a new hair cut and clothing today, do you really feel that this new outer look will bring your inner Self more joy? If it does, it will only ever be temporary until your usual patterns start to return and you begin to feel the same way about who you are. Let us reach the source of those feelings. Let us get an inner Self makeover by changing the way we see our Self first. All the other things (jewellery, clothing, etc.) will be the easy part to follow.

Be Who You Want To Be
What is stopping you from being the person you want to be?

Instead of concentrating on the material changes that you might like, think about how you will change as an individual person. Will you be happier? Will you feel beautiful? Will this change mean that you are now looking at your Self with joy? Get back to the feelings you will have if you did go through the change.
Build the picture. See this person in your mind and enjoy these feelings.
 

It is easy to blame the outer situations in our life for the way we feel. However, if we really want to be in control of our Self, start by taking control of how you feel about you - regardless of the crazy world around us.

An inner makeover is a chance to look at the way we view our Self. The way we see our Self will be reflected for others to see too. Take the image you want, and start to act this image out in real life. Use this image in your mind as a guide to how you will deal with daily life.

Acting as-if you are the beautiful person you want to be is not a false hope or statement. You are not trying to fool anyone by becoming the person in this image. What you are doing is bringing this person out of you, tapping into the person who you already are. This image is already you. You may just need a gentle push to reveal it to the world too.

RESTORE YOUR FEEL-GOOD SENSATIONS

There will be many times when we know we need to feel at our best. It may be that you have an interview coming up or that you will be going to an event that you have been looking forward to all year. Anytime and anywhere is a good time to feel good. Unfortunately, our nerves or negative thoughts might steal that moment away.

For a cheap and easy way to bring back the feel good sensation, here is a simple technique that you can use:

Close your eyes for a moment.

Remember a time in your life when you were feeling amazing, happy and loved.

How did this feel like? What feelings are you getting? What did your body language show others?

Stay in this moment for a few minutes and relax.

When you are ready, open your eyes and notice the difference.

This technique is so simple and so easy to do. Do this first thing in he morning when you wake, anytime you feel a little down or when you just feel like it! Know that you do not need a reason to feel good inside. Genuine smiles always shine!

BRING BACK SOME COLOUR INTO YOUR STYLE

It is so easy to fall into the trap of just wearing safe colours. Colours have the power to change our moods. Add some colour in your life. It is not hard to do.
 

Here are a few ideas on how to use colour:

Simple accessories can usually brighten up any outfit.
Wear colours that make you feel happy and vibrant.
Surround your Self with items that are beautiful and colourful.
Change the lighting in your home to reflect your mood.
Close you eyes and visualise a colour for a few minutes before returning to your daily chores.
Brighten up your life by bringing out the inner beautiful you. With a little practice, you will soon find that this will make for lasting good results!
