Finding time-saving tactics that will have you looking good without breaking the bank isn’t as hard as you think. Take a look at our top tips for beauty without the bother:Get a practical haircutA good and easy to manage style will save crucial hours every work-day morning. Any cut that requires hours of blow-drying, elaborate tricks with endless products and a whole load of preening just to be decent enough to get you out of door is not worth its salt – no matter how good you look. Opt for a hairstyle that is easy to control and which needs little more than minimal attention when the clock is ticking. Fake a perfect manicureA wonderful tip for sparking nails only involves a quick dip in the fruit bowl. Simply soak nails in some good old-fashioned lemon juice to eliminate stains and discolouration, and then use a nail buffer to make tips shiny. For some extra shine, add a quick coat of clear polish and – voila – instant manicure without the fuss. Sally Hansen’s Hard-As-Nails clear polish is a cut above the rest. The joy of face wipesA brilliant invention and an absolute god send for tired heads. Whether it be when you roll in at midnight or when a full beauty face routine is just too much, go for a quick clean with your favourite cleaning wipe and head to bed fresh as a daisy. Also good for mornings when time is of the essence and even handier for quick removal of make up dollops on clothes (or even freshening up underarms!). Try Tesco’s Vitamin E wipes or Nivea 3-in-1 wipes. Spray awayMoisturising body sprays – always keep a bottle to hand. Moisturising body sprays are fabulous for not only freshening up your scent but adding a touch of sheen and moisture to dry and tired skin. They take only seconds to squirt and dry, and can save many an occasion. In a range of scents and usually at a price to fit any budget, stock up for rainy days. A multipurpose miracleAll hail Vaseline. What a wonder! Use as a lip balm or gloss, to moisturise cuticles, to make eyebrows glossy and smooth, and even to soothe dry skin patches. It’s cheap, pocket size and perfect for a beauty emergency, so keep a pot in your bag, your bathroom, on your desk, in your car… the list is endless! Get a good concealerA time-saver if ever there was one. On occasions when brevity is a must, there’s no need to apply foundation to your entire face. Save time and energy by applying your concealer only to the areas that really need coverage, and blend really well for a flawless look. Try and buy a really good concealer (Clinique do some fantastic ones) and only go for a full foundation face when both the occasion dictates and time allows. Opt for colourTints and stains – ah, another great dual-purpose product for every make up bag today. These little gems can be used as a blusher to add colour to the palest of cheeks (and they’re easier to use then traditional powders), as well as a fabulous little lippie for a pretty pout. The best on the market is very possibly Benefit’s Benetint. Curl those lashesAn essential item that no woman should be without. Curling your lashes can really open your eyes, just remember to replace the in-fills regularly and always curl before applying mascara. The Body Shop sell a great range of curlers that will last and last. Go on, make the most of your lashes by making them stand proud. Don’t skimp on your razorInvest in a high-quality razor and never look back. If you are shaving in a rush, a cheap substitute will only nick and graze your skin, and a nasty rash is never a good look for anyone. So buy wisely. Gillette does the Venus range, which are a popular choice for many. Get some gloss For some unbeatable shine – in a flash – on your crowning glory, fake a healthy gloss by smoothing a tiny drop of serum over the top section of your hair. You can also rub a little in to any dry ends for an all over look. Great for tired, lank hair. Top of your serum shopping list should be Frizz Ease. However always be careful not to use too much or you could end up looking more greasy than glossy.
