Colour is one of the biggest spring fashion stories, a welcome interlude
from those wintry wallflower shades. To be bold - rather than background
- on the colour chart, cover up in this season's brights, or shiny
metallics.
"For the most, jacket colours are nude, neutral and putty browns,"
Bonnie says. "But you could go all space age with silver foil-style
parkas. Or try a Chloe-style mustard blazer."
Primark's gathered front mustard jacket, £15 (17 Euros), should suit
your budget. Others joining the bright brigade can try Peacock's hot
pink parka, £12, Matalan's pink bomber jacket, £15, or River Island's
yellow parka, £69.99 (117.50 Euros).
If you prefer the magic properties of metallic, plump for George's pale
gold lame mac, £25, Oasis' sporty silver parka, £80 (120 Euros), or
River Island's metallic leather bomber, £120 (201.50 Euros).
Colour, however, may only be a one-season wonder, as Bonnie warns. "If
you are going for futuristic silvers or bold, bright colours, statement
jackets can date very quickly. Be warned, you may only get one season's
