Forego the statement shoes and designer bags, if there's one big investment you need to make this season, it's a new winter coat. A style-savvy coat not only keeps the elements at bay, but gives you a fashion-forward look, whatever your outfit.
As always, the designers went to town on weird and wonderful coats on the Autumn/Winter catwalks, but wearable key trends emerged which have infiltrated the high street.
"From padded to brocade, coats came in many forms this season, but the most fashion forward is the 'curvy' coat," says Grazia magazine's Lucy Dunn.
Yes, the waist trend is being worked on outerwear too. Lucy explains:"What you need is a waist-whittling statement of a belt to enhance your womanly curves. If your favourite coat doesn't have a belt, just add one of your own. Wear casually with flat riding boots or glam up with platforms and a superclutch."
