Pete Doherty arrested…again!
Controversial rock singer Pete Doherty spent last night in a jail cell after his latest run in with police.
The Babyshambles front man, 27, was arrested after the car he was travelling in, which was reported as stolen, sped away from the police after being ordered
to pull over in Hackney, East London.
A Metropolitan police spokesman confirmed that three men aged 22, 27 and 35 were arrested at 05:00 GMT yesterday, although no charges will be levied against Doherty.
The singer has become synonymous with court appearances and trouble with the law, gaining notoriety for his well-publicised heroin addiction and subsequent drug offence charges.
His arrest yesterday came hours after he told fans at a gig that he had no plans to marry supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss, despite rumours of a New Year wedding in Thailand.
“I'm never getting married. I don't believe in it. Kate and I are in love – I worship her – but we're not going down the aisle. I'm happy the way it is,” Doherty said.
