Celebrity Big Brother’s Jo O'Meara victim of £200k swindle
Celebrity Big Brother’s Jo O’ Meara was last night facing another blow, after discovering £200, 000 has been taken from her savings.
O‘Meara is recovering from a suicide attempt after the public backlash she
received upon leaving the Big Brother house, after her part in reported
bullying and racism against Shilpa Shetty.
She was discovered at home after
taking ten painkillers; her family caught her in time and made her drink
salt water until she was sick.
She has now discovered her home was re-mortgaged for a further £200 000 without her knowing. Jo entered the house, to help pay mortgage repayments as her home was facing repossession.
It is feared the latest news may push Jo over the edge as she is in such a vulnerable state.
A friend close to the singer told The Sun newspaper: “She is devastated by what has happened and she’s tried her best to keep it quiet. She said she only went on Celebrity Big Brother to raise cash, but obviously everything went so wrong.”
Jo’s home in Romford, Essex, is believed to be worth £650,000, but it is facing repossession any day now: “Now, it’s just a matter of time as to when her house will be repossessed. The bailiffs could turn up tomorrow. You just never know.”
It is believed Jo will move in with her mother nearby if she loses her home. Last night, a friend said Jo was incredibly low but is “bravely trying to move on – and we’re all helping her.”
