There's tips on how to make gardens, or even
back yards |
The Summer holidays are looming - but forget letting your kids sit in
front of a computerX-box or TV .
They could have much more fun outdoors, with a hand from a new series of
books by Really Wild Show presenter Nick Baker.
The Habitat Explorer books, aimed at encouraging seven to 12-year-olds
to get their hands dirty and see what's around them, are practical
guides focusing on four different habitats - Seashore; Gardens and
Parks; Forests and Woodlands; and Rivers, Ponds and Lakes.
 |
If you're by the seaside, Baker explains how to
make a simple 'burrow box' out of perspex and
rubber tubing |
But they don't need to go far afield to do it - the fun can start in the
garden.
Baker says: "There's no place like home. You may not think of looking
for adventure among the patio tubs, behind the woodpile or even in the
window box, but it's there in abundance."
