Still one of the most rewarding cars to drive on the road today, its classic front engine, rear-wheel drive layout pays homage to the MGBs and Lotus Elans which once formed the backbone of British sports car motoring.
An all-new model arrives later in the year, so this could be your last chance to experience one of the true motoring classics.
Mercedes may have sparked off a trend for cars with folding metal roofs with its SLK, but Peugeot can be credited with bringing the technology to the masses and making it affordable.
The French firm's 206 CC, and the larger 307 CC are the perfect illustrations. Not only are they positioned at a price that we mortals can afford, but they lose nothing of Peugeot's traditional lust for life and sweeping bends.

Although looking good and feeling fine will always take precedence over the ability to tear up the tarmac in the entry-level roadster class, the Ford Streetka is no slouch and won't let you down at the traffic light grand prix. Of course, you'll be more interested in being seen rather than ruffling your flowing tresses, but isn't that half the point of a drop-top in the first place?
