SLIPPERS AND PIPE

Typical age 18-45

Francine Kaye, relationship coach with the
Fiona Harrold Consultancy

"A definite eagerness to settle down sets in about 35 and continues until they find 'the one'. This can be a very difficult phase as a need for commitment comes into focus, especially if a family is on her agenda."

THE MR RIGHT MISSION

So with more than one man capable of causing a stir on your dating radar during your love life, has the traditional Mr Right vanished completely?

Relationship coach Francine Kaye disagrees "Most women are looking for Mr Right but it's true that some will settle for 'Mr Right Now'.

"The fantasy of being in a loving partnership is so compelling that it can disguise the true character of someone who is actually 'Mr Wrong'," she argues.

The rules of the dating game have changed, along with women's needs, according to Kaye.

"The truth is that Mr Right won't come knocking
at your door, unless you happen to fall for the
postman," says Kaye

"Woman now want a man as a companion - someone to share their lives with, someone to love them, listen to them and have fun with. In my experience, their expectations of finding this kind of Mr Right are pretty high," she says.

"They're sure he is out there somewhere and really don't want to settle for Mr All Right! The challenge now lies in where to find this elusive life partner."

MEETING MR RIGHT

Whether you're hunting high and low for Mr Right or even Mr Right Now, you won't be riding off into the sunset together without some relationship groundwork.

"The truth is that Mr Right won't come knocking at your door, unless you happen to fall for the postman," says Kaye.

"Treat your intention to find Mr Right like any other goal you set for yourself. You may have to kiss a few frogs, but unless you do, you may not find that Prince Charming."
