You'll remember Ray as the X Factor finalist and former Brookside actor.

nuts4chic How has life been since The X Factor ended?
Ray Quinn "It's such an opportunity for me, being so young and living my dream. I recorded parts of the album in Capitol Studios (where Sinatra also recorded) and used his mike when I sang My Way. I also worked with some of Sinatra's band members - it was absolutely incredible.
"I'm having a wonderful time being on this rollercoaster. No
rollercoaster in Alton Towers can compare to what I'm going through. It's higher than high in the sky! It's an amazing experience and I'm never going to forget this."
n4c What was it like working with your idol's band?
RQ "They were really cool and gave me advice. They want a copy of my album. They told me to keep enjoying it, love every minute and never forget who you are and where you're from. And to keep my feet firmly on the ground. They said that if I did that, I'd enjoy it more than get caught up with the stress of it."
n4c How did you get into swing?
RQ "I've always had a passion for swing, and it just shows that these are amazing standard songs because it's been over 50 years, and people like me are still bringing them out.
"I'm happy that I can show kids my age that it's cool. I'm not worried about being typecast because I'm proud of what I do and what I love. I'm sticking to my guns."
n4c Are you disappointed that you didn't win?
RQ "We (Leona and I) gave it our all and we put on a great final. We talked before the show, and said that we would just enjoy it and let the people decide. We had made it so we wanted to give it all we got, and we did.
"I felt a bit gutted, but it was her time. She won, give her her dues,
Leona worked hard. She deserves everything she got. I want to give her her moment, and I think we both came up on top, definitely. It's not bad being a loser."
n4c Did you hang out together when you were both in LA?
RQ "I was out there for a month, immediately after the show, and she was only there for a short period of time, we didn't. She was quite jet-lagged, poor little sod, and was so knackered that we only saw each other on the plane on the way home. We chatted all the way back."
n4c So what does the future hold for you?
RQ "I'd love to sit down and write or co-write songs, and give my ideas across. I'd probably write big-bandy type songs! I'm proud of my album and the fact that I've achieved an album at my age. This isn't work, it's fun for me.
